Check-in and Packet Pickup at the starting line
*You will need to have a photo ID in order to receive your packet and timing chip. This includes race morning packet pick-up. We encourage you to pick up your packet prior to race day morning to eliminate issues on the morning of the race.
Directions to start: From Center St. and Main St (Highway 191), head south out of town approximately 10 miles. The start will be held at the Behind the Rocks Trailhead. Follow the flagging to the start line. There is dispersement camping available at the start/finish line. We will have bathrooms and some water available.
We highly encourage carpooling to the start – parking is limited.
There will be parking attendants pointing out parking spots. If you park in an unacceptable location, BLM will issue tickets. Please adhere to parking attendants instructions to avoid tickets and ensure we can continue to work with the BLM for the Behind the Rocks and future events hosted by GrassRoots Events.
*Be sure your chip is attached to your shoe and is secured with ties provided. If you don’t have attach the chip, or lose your during the race, you will not be in the results. We will have a volunteer remove your chip at the finish line. If, for any reason, you lose your chip, there will be a $10 replacement fee. 6 a.m. – 50 mile start
8 a.m. – 50k start
9 a.m. - 30k start
Directions to finish: Same as starting line directions.
Post race food & refreshments:
We will have Behind the Rocks Enchiladas, and the food provided at the aid stations. See the aid station information to learn more about what foods will be provided at the aid stations.
GrassRoots Special Request:
While running on the Hunter Canyon Rim Trail, please be aware of where you step so that you are sure to stay off of the Cryptobiotic Crust. The crust is a living organism that takes a long time to recover from human disturbances.

**Shirts for races are ordered two weeks before race day. If you register after that we will do our best to get you a race shirt, but race shirts are not guaranteed.
